Lower Key Stage Two

The children in Year Three are taught by Mrs Martin, who is assisted by Mr Hardy, Mrs Dunster and Mrs Thomas.  In Year Four, children are taught by Mrs Postlethwaite and Miss Pilcher.  Mrs Postlethwaite teaches Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Miss Pilcher teaches Thursday and Friday.  The class is assisted by Mrs Dunster.

  • Mrs Martin is a music specialist with a passion for singing. She has led many successful choirs at her previous schools.
  • Mrs P is a Science specialist and a Thrive Practitioner.  She is skilled in supporting children with complex emotional needs.  Mrs P also works  with Plymouth University as a School Based Mentor, so the school has regular trainee teachers undertaking school based practices on their journey to becoming qualified teachers.
  • Miss Pilcher is a physical education specialist who also has an interest in music.

Lower Key Stage Two offers children the opportunity to extend the skills and knowledge they gained in Key Stage One. Their learning promotes independence ready for the move to Upper Key Stage Two.

Both classes work closely together and share a topic. This term our we will be learning about:

  • Around The World in 80 Days
  • Electricity
