Upper Key Stage Two

In Upper Key Stage Two we are fostering greater independence so that we enable our children to be well equipped for their onward transition to secondary school.

This term the Upper Key Stage Two children have a history based topic in which they will be learning about WW2. The children will be exploring life on the home front, about evacuees and looking at countries involved in WW2. Through RE, the children will be exploring the journey of life and death with a focus on the Christain and Jewish religions. There will also be the theme of 'Changing Me' which will encompass learning in science, PE and PSHE.

The teaching team in Upper KS2 comprises of Mrs Hopkins in Year Five and Mr Rodgers in Year Six.

Teaching and provision is delivered thematically across a range of topics throughout the year, and through planning together we ensure progression across the Upper Key Stage. Mrs Hopkins is mathematics co-ordinator for the school and has an interest in MFL and history.  Mr Rodgers has a specialism in physical education, he also has an interest in mathematics and using technology to enhance childrens' learning.
