About Us
Kentisbeare School is part of the Culm Valley Federation, which consists of Kentisbeare C of E Primary School, Culmstock Primary School and Plymtree C of E Primary School.
Kentisbeare is a thriving village Primary School, which was first founded in 1793. The original Victorian building has been sympathetically modernised with an impressive extension providing stimulating learning environments. The school has six classes (one form entry) and in addition to this, an award winning Foundation Unit for 3-5 year olds.
It is a Church of England Primary School and Christian values underpin the aims of the school. It is situated in the heart of the popular village of Kentisbeare surrounded by attractive countryside in rural mid-Devon. It is in a lively community with its own post office/village shop, public house, church and modern village hall.
The school is set in beautiful grounds, with a meadow-like playing field, a quiet garden, living willow domes, a large tarmac playground and an adventure play area.
Our caring, stimulating environment aims to develop each child's full potential. We encourage and expect high standards in both work and behaviour. We make our school personal, a place where every child and adult are valued.
We aim to develop our children through a broad and balanced curriculum, including a wide variety of out-of-school clubs and activities.
We hope to give you a flavour of school life through the school's website, but you will also find a warm welcome if you should visit the school.
